Answer:Always be respectful; don't get too drunk; when shopping (in places without price tags) ask one shop then walk and ask another (they all sell the same stuff) pick the shop with best prices; if renting a car/motorbike/jet ski..do a thorough check of the equipment before taking it out (don't want to get charged for damages he didn't commit); NEVER EVER do illegal drugs in Thailand; watch out for the lady-boys (big shoulders, tall, sexually aggressive, big hands/adam's apple, walk with a sway), always lock valuables in the hotel safe.
Me and my friends were thinking of going to Thaliand. We've worked out the accomodation and airfare will probably cost us about $1200, how much do you reckon spending money will cost us?? Also how can you secure your luggage so people can't anything in it during customs checks and that??
Answer:$50 is a great answer. You could get by on less, but shouldn't have to worry about penny pinching when you're making such a huge trip. A lunch will cost 2 or 3 dollars, a cold beer about $1.50 or less from a 7-11. A heavier, sit down dinner could be $4 in resort ares, less in rural. ATMs are very easy to find in cities. Transportation is cheap, but plan on a lot of shopping. There are so many unique things that I'm sure you'll want to take with you. Also, be aware of overweight fees for your luggage. 50 lbs (each of 2 bags) is the limit for airlines in the US and and it can be as low as 20 kilos on Thai domestic carriers. You can really get nailed with that, so weigh your bags, and plan on buying some of the cute tanks and skirts there to wear. Also, just using luggage locks is good enough. My bags have been in and out many times without issue. Enjoy your trip :)

Hi, me and my friend are thinking of going to Thailand, but we really want to avoid the whole crazy sex and drinking scene. What places can you recommend , we like traveling around countries etc. Also is it safe in Thailand to travel away from the main tourist parts?
Answer:Regarding dodgy and drinking scenes, you can avoid some certain spots and events i.e. Pattaya, Bangkok (Nana, Patpong), Phuket (Patong) and Ko Phangan (Full Moon Party). For beaches visit Hua Hin, Ko Samet, Ko Chang, Krabi, Ko Lanta, Ko Phi Phi, Ko Samui. For diving visit Ko Tao, Ko Similan. For mountain and trekking visit Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Khao Yai National Park. For historical site visit Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Kanchanaburi, etc. It's still safe to travel away from main tourist parts in Thailand. Like other countries in the world, you must be careful and stay alert while travelling around unknown places. Welcome to Thailand :)
