What is an issue with Syria and nuclear power? I have to write a paper on it, but don't know the connections between syria and nuclear power...sources would also be helpful, but mostly just a .. THESIS: on according to syrias point of view, whats the best way to solve this issue?
Answer:The problem is that Syria is considered by the West to be a rogue state (but keep in mind, the West considers any country that won't subjugate themselves to Western culture or influence to be a "rogue state"). Any country with nuclear power (which commonly means they're capable of nuclear weapons), no matter how impoverished or small, is equal to the greatest superpower on earth. Since the West controls the majority of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons, it easy to understand how they wish to retain their status as the majority. The most commonly used argument is that "if Syria gains control of a nuclear weapon, they might bomb Israel". These people are, in simple terms, idiots for think so. Syria would kill more Palestinians than Israelis by dropping a bomb anywhere in Israel and the fallout would hit neighboring Arab countries. Syria hates Israel, it's true, but only for the reason that Israel is located in the Middle East. Syria doesn't want Israel destroyed (especially through the use of nuclear weapons)- Syria wants Israel gone and replaced with Palestine- it'd be pointless to wipe out Israel only to irradiate the land Palestinians are meant to return to.
What are the 10 most populated cities of Syria and the 10 largest cities of Syria? Can you please list the populations also.. Thanks
Answer:Most of the answers you will get will be slightly flawed, as recent censuses have not taken the vast Iraqi refugee population into consideration. The ten largest cities (in both population and size) are as follows: Damascus Aleppo Homs Hama Latakia Tartouse Daer Ez-Zoar Palmyra Bosra/Yebrood Maaloula (Even though Bouharet El-Asad has a larger population, it isn't technically a city)
I am interested in where people obtain images (both contemporary and historical) for use in publications in Syria. If anyone knows anything about copyright laws regarding pictures in Syria I would be interested in that too. Thank you!
Answer:Hi Sophie, I really wanna know where are you living now so I can help you with your question. If you are living in North America or Europe, you can obtain the pictures and information from the embassy (which some times is not convenient) so I would suggest to contact the students union in the nearest university and hopefully they will have SSA (Syrian Student Association). I live in Canada Montreal and we have a pretty strong Association here, we can provide you with pictures and we can talk to you about whatever you wanna know about Syria. Off course for free. we get our pictures from the cultural centers from Syria and the Syrian embassies around and whoever have something interesting (rare pictures and stuff) we share them and exhibit them. For the copyright ... it doesn't really exist in Syria. So go ahead and copy whatever you want if you are there.. I will suggest this website for you .. I found it the best which talks about Syria: http://www.creativesyria.com/
I was told this as I have a friend who did this (joined Red Cross to help the people in Gaza) and apparently cant go back to Syria because he did not get the permission of the government to do so. Could this be true or false? Please help me out here. He did not get the permission of the Syrian government to go to Gaza
Answer:I don't know...but Syria's record on human rights and freedom of travel make me think it could be true.
