I am going to Rolle in Switzerland in Augest, and I am wondering if Switzerland is hot right now or cold. Help me please!
Answer:Well... you will be travelling in August so do check this site once before your travel date to get a fair idea of the forecast .. http://swissinfo.org/eng/weather/index.html?siteSect=450 THe weather is pretty unpredictable here these days .... Its little humid ...raqining and windy ...and when its windy it gets cold too... So I wud suggest that u do carry some good jackets .... one medium warm and another really warm .... cos when it gets hot u can just take it out and tie arnd ur waist.. Its been raining so an umbrella/ waterproof jacket wnt be a bad idea.... also do carry a cap to cover ur ears incase its windy cos its easy to catch flu when u travel like this ..... Otherwise in August typically u wudnt need very heavy clothing unless u plan to visit mountain peaks ...then ofcourse u have to carry all winter clothing like long jackets ..the best shoes etc .... hope u ahve a good time
1. Name three countries that are next to Switzerland? 2. Which famous organization has a similar flag to Switzerland's?
Answer:1. Germany, Italy and France (also Austria and Lichtenstein) 2. The Red Cross (however the colour of the flag of the red cross is, obviously, inverted. Switzerland's flag has a white cross). "coop22", may I inform you that the Red Cross was founded by Henri Dunant, a man from Geneva and not "William Heberden" who was an English physician who died 53 years before the foundation of the Red Cross. Hope this has helped, S.O.

What I know is that France won a war against Austria and Britain. The Treaty of Campo Formio took Austria out of the war, and declared Napoleon's campaign a success. Italy and Switzerland fell under French control, but why Switzerland?
Answer:France had been intervening in Swiss affairs well before Napoleon. Earlier in the 18th century France, together with Savoy and Berne, was a guarantor of the aristocratic republican constitution of Geneva, and intervened to uphold it in 1734, 1766 and 1782. When the revolution came along, it was natural that the revolutionaries in Geneva would look to France for help, and they got it. This started a war with Berne in which France also intervened, and which ended in French control of Switzerland, reorganised as the Helvetic Republic
I often find myself coming across references to the neutrality and singularity of Switzerland's political and economic system. I have never familiarized myself with the country's history and know next to nothing about its current affairs. Please explain those things that set Switzerland apart from most other nations and make the country so frequently worthy of mention.
Answer:A famous quote from Harry Lime (Orsen Wells), in "The Third Man" "In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."
