How far is the beginning of the niger river from the Atlantic ocean?
Answer:The headwaters of the Niger would be 2590 river-miles from the Atlantic Ocean. You will get a different straight line, as the crow flies number if you look at a map and draw that straight line and measure. It will be shorter that way. http://www.socialstudiesforkids.com/articles/geography/nigerriver.htm http://geography.howstuffworks.com/africa/the-niger-river.htm http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Niger-River

Or aren't there any? Please list, I know Niger is one of the poorest nations in the world but what about Nigeria aren't they the opposite? Nigeria is right below Niger. Thank you.
Answer:They are both considered poor countries, Nigeria does have a far larger economy but not much wealth trickles down to the extreme poor, but Nigeria also has a decent size rich class (as opposed to many other african nations), most of the rich live in Abuja or the islands near downtown Lagos, the only noticeable differences are that Nigerian cities tend to be more crowded and Niger cities tend to be less crowded and slightly more arabic style. Niger is also predominately desert, while Nigeria is naturally mostly rainforests. .....and our avatars kinda look the same HEEEEYYYYYY!!!! :)
